All Saints, Maldon

High Street Maldon Chelmsford

http://www.allsaintsmaldon.com

All Saints' Maldon dates back to the 13th Century. We have a happy family atmosphere and a warm welcome is extended to visitors.

Visitors should make a point of seeing the Washington Window which is located in the D'Arcy Chapel. This window was donated by the town of Malden, Massachusetts, to commemorate the life of Rev Laurence Washington who was the great-great grandfather of George Washington, first President of the United States of America. Laurence Washington was a loyalist clergyman, ejected from his living and buried somewhere in the churchyard in 1652. A record of his entry in the burial register may be found on the adjacent wall. A book listing the donors is on the window ledge.

The church also has a very active and progressive choir who sing at all Sunday and special services.

We are currently in Vacancy our Ministry team at present is Canon Dr Graham Blyth Hon. Assistant Priest and Authorised Local Preachers are Adrienne Knight and Alan Marjoram.

St Mary's Church has stood above the Hythe Quay in Maldon for nearly nine hundred years. It's famous lantern acted, for centuries, as a navigational aid to seafarers and the church is still known as the sailors' church today. To spend some time in prayer within its ancient walls is to experience a peace and atmosphere hard to find in today's busy world.

The parish is currently in vacancy but there is still a lot going on, with regular activities throughout the week, including Welcome Wednesday and a thriving and celebrated choir.

Our worship centres on the Eucharist, with the main Parish Mass (Common Worship) being 10am on Sunday and a said Mass on Tuesdays at the same time. We also meet together to enjoy the beautiful language of 1662 Evensong every Sunday evening at 6pm. On the first Sunday of the month this is fully choral, with settings of the canticles from the sixteenth century to the present day. The church is listed on choralevensong.org

You can find our weekly news sheet here: https://www.stmarysmaldon.org.uk/currentbulletin/

We look forward to welcoming you to our church.
